1. I was born and raised in Portland, OR. When I was 19, I was hired by United Airlines to be a flight attendant based out of LAX. While waiting for the training course to have an opening, I made some friends in Seattle, WA. A few months later it was time to move. Honestly, I didn't know which way I wanted to go, so I packed up my things, jumped in my car, and just drove. I ended up in Seattle. I stayed for over a year and missed home so much, I came back. Sometimes I look back and wonder how in the world I ever did something like that. I'm such a planner and that was so spontaneous and so huge! Good times.
2. After being in and out of school, I finally graduated college in 2008. My hubby was my rock. He helped keep me from giving up, which I wanted to do by the end of every term. I couldn't stand all those exams! Glad I stuck it out though. It feels so good to achieve your goals. I hope all of you are reaching for yours.
Did I mention this was on my birthday! Those blue gowns were one-size-fits-all... uh I don't think so.
3. I was attacked by mosquitoes last summer (totally and completely my hubby's fault for dragging me and my bike into the woods... stagnant water... I knew there was stagnant water somewhere!) Well, I'm allergic to mosquito bites. I had 16 all over my body. I was so swollen and miserable I stayed home from work and cried for a week. On the worst day, I took 4 Benadryl and 2 Zyrtec, and none of it made me sleepy. How weird am I??? The best remedy was super hot water on each bite. It worked better than all the lotions and potions.
4. I'm Korean but I don't really care for kimchi. I think I'm paranoid about it giving my bad breath.
Maybe I just ate too much when I was a kid.
5. I helped my hubby (UPS driver) during peak season several years ago. Yeah, I delivered packages in the rain and snow for 2 weeks! Slips and falls => zilch, zero, nada. Stepping in doggy doo-doo => once. It was such hard work! I wanted to throw all the packages at the houses with tons of stairs or steep, long driveways. Hmph. But hey, at least I looked cute while doing it right? Plus, I got to spend time with my best friend. Aww schucks.
P.S. We're going to Cirque du Soleil Kooza tonight. Yipee!!! If I remember correctly, you're not allowed to take any photos while under the tent. Bummer. I'll see if I can sneak one in pre-show. Btw... I blogged about it HERE.
Love these fun facts about you, Amy!!! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteLiesl :)
P.S. Have fun at Cirque de Soleil...I saw them on my 13th Birthday, may years ago, in Chicago and loved it! :)
ReplyDeleteFour Benadryl plus two Zyrtec and none made you snooze? Wow! Hehe.
ReplyDeleteI also didn't like the taste of Kimchi. I love spicy foods but Kimchi is one that I didn't enjoy.
Sounds like you and your hubby have such a great time together (except for the bug bites).
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to celebrate your birthday?! It is tough going to school and I can't wait until I am done. It's nice to have the additional support of spouses through all the terrible exams.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I love to read fun facts about you! Great stories to read ;)! Happy friday and enjoy the show tonight!
ReplyDeleteI love reading about you! I don't know how you keep thinking of these little facts. It was hard enough for me to think of five! Haha

ReplyDeletexoxo jenna
Love this!!!! So you hate kimchi too!!!!! Haha, I can't eat it. I'm like spicy food intolerant. And as you may know a lot of Korean foods are spicy... bummer! :P
ReplyDeletePS: I'm going to see the Cirque du Soleil show too!!!!! I don't know if it's the same one though. It's a new show called Totem. I'm going in June! Yippee!!!

Seems these are the posts we all love the most! You are fascinating! Can't believe how cute you two are in the matching uniforms!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute post!!! What is your favorite thing about Portland? I need to visit there soon and I think I will within the next year. I'm in eastern WA so it isn't THAT far away (not really close either though).
ReplyDeleteThese are such good facts!
A super dose of antihistamines doesn't make you sleepy? Did you say once you can really hold your liquor? That is amazing for someone so petite.
ReplyDeleteHope you two have a great time at Kooza!
Sorry about the misquitos :( I get lots of bites too, but mine is not as bad as yours. Maybe they are attracted to Asians? haha. JK.
ReplyDeleteHave fun tonight!
whooaaww,, the circus will be very exciting, I really sure for that, I ever watch it too around 3 years ago (although only a local circus), but the players were really amazing :)
ReplyDelete-loovveecuuppss
lol loved this. i like kimchi, but don't really eat too much of it. i'll only eat it if my ma made it. i'm so paranoid that the store put some nasty msg or weird ingredient in it haha :)
ReplyDeleteit's so awesome and totally sweet that you helped hubby at work!!! cute pic!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great tip about mozzie bites - I'll remember that for next summer here.
ReplyDeleteHave a brilliant time at Cirque - it will be amazing!!
I think I'm the opposite as you... hehe~ I loved my kim-chi growing up but as older I get, I crave it more. :/ I hope I don't scare people with my kim-chi breath... lol~
ReplyDeleteawwww i loved reading these fun facts about you! i can't believe you helped your hubby deliver packages in the horrible weather, it just shows your true love for him, sooo sweet! and that's crazy your allergic to mosquito bites, eeks! when i go back to asia, i get like 40 all over my body each time.. NOT FUN!! have a great weekend amy!
ReplyDeleteIt's so wonderful that you had your husband to stand by you and help you achieve your goals -- and delivering packages sounds a little fun!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
You're so lucky to be done & over with college! I freaking hate it, aha. Such a pain in the butt -____-
ReplyDeleteI can't believe not even 4 Benadryls & 2 Zyrtecs didn't make you drowsy or sleepy at all! I take 1 of my friend's Benadryl when I go to her house 'cause I'm allergic to her dog & I seriously just about knock out every time I take it! Hahaha.
& I'm totally with you on the kimchi! I hardly eat that stuff like all the other Koreans, haha, but I do enjoy kimchi chigae once in a while =)
Yikes re: the mosquito bites! I guess you're not much of a camper then b/c of that? Hehe I have probably mentioned this before, but I'll say it again - you and your hubby are so cute!

ReplyDeleteXx
Congratulations on your graduation (even if it was two years ago)! It's always great to see people achieving their goals :) I know what you mean about those gowns. Haha, they're such a flattering shape! :/
ReplyDeleteThe best remedy I've found for mosquito bites is (warning: it's pretty gross) saliva. I've found it neutralises whatever the heck makes them itch. Pretty disgusting, but it works for me! My brother and sister are allergic too, so I know how horrible it must've been for you.
x Jasmine
PS. You and your husband are super cute in your UPS uniforms!

I hate mosquitoes! I try to wear bug repellent everything and anything just to keep them away. I'm glad you're better now though. That's crazy that you're allergic to them. Don't eat bananas! I heard there is a chemical in them that make your skin smell yummy to mosquitoes.
You're such awesome wifey to be helping your husband that way. He's one lucky guy.
