Alphabet Soup - Letter of the Day is J

J is for jolly, J is for joy, J is for jam (which brings me joy and makes me jolly).

SIDE NOTE: I'm a little sad because my Etsy shop, the shop that is generated from my creativity and hard work, has found itself some imitators.  Although, imitation is suppose to be flattering... this time it's not.   It saddens me that fellow Etsians wouldn't have respect for each other.  We should be supporting each other, especially in this economy.  I can only hope that buyers will know the difference between my work and the imitations.  I will not let this bring me down.  I will not let this affect my work ethic.  This will only push me to strive to be even more creative.  Thank you for all your support.  I hope you had a great weekend and Mother's Day.  Maybe I need some JAM!!!

  5. That sucks about your imitators! That would frustrate me so much, too!

Love those rompers. Need to get one for the summer. :)

  7. I remember when I was in the 7th grade I was the envy of my class. I rocked these awesome heeled jelly sandals that all the girls wanted. I wish I still had those shoes. They'd still fit too. I'm a sucker for jumpers too!!

Amy, sorry to hear about those posers on Etsy. That is lame. BIG TIME! It's one thing to get inspired by someone, but to completely imitate someone elses work is just wrong. I hope you still continue to create your beautiful pieces though. You are truly talented. I love everything you make. I'm sure you're aware of what happened to Ashley of Fern Animal.. now that is so WRONG!

I hope you are okay. :)

  10. In this case immitation is stealing. Ugh! But maybe this is a sign there is a "Junghwa" magazine in your future--since people want to copy your style, taste and creativity.

    J is for Junghwa! =)

  12. oh right? sometimes I get really wound up ad I feel like no one gets it! They always say, "you should be flattered!" Meh.

Glad to see those jelly shoes making a comeback. I remember you had a pair when you were little and I always wanted a pair too because of course, big sis is way cooler.

  13. It is really sad when people stoop low enough to take what is not theres!!

I am sure people will be able to tell yours from the fakes!!!

  14. Cute jumpers!

Sorry to hear about those imposters, theres no legal action you can take?

Im sure your hard core followers will stay loyal to you, after all, youre the original!!!

  17. I'm sorry you're experiencing imitators on Etsy! I totally know the feeling and I really hope people will know the difference too.

    Hope you enjoyed Cirque!

  18. The first jelly shoes are cute. And you call those jumpers?! How funny. In Australia jumpers are winter clothes (I guess what you call sweaters etc).

And that sux that people have started to copy you! I truly hope people know the difference. xx

  20. Ok, Amy, don't be sad. I'd totally love to sue these ugly imitators for you, but sadly I'm not a lawyer yet. You can file a complaint at Etsy, no? If not there's always blackmailing....

P.S.: Jam makes me jolly too! :)

  21. Aww, cheer up : ) I was browsing your store the other day and did notice others with similar designs. It's so hard to protect creative property.

  23. just yesterday I read an article on my friend's blog, she also felt the same thing, except that in this case, someone had been imitated what she wrote, i'm so sad to hear that, but hopefully it doesn't discourage your creativity,,

  25. Those jelly sandals look so attractive, I can't believe they are plastic! (I also can't believe they would charge $125 for plastic, even if it is plastic made in Italy).

Sorry to hear you've had some design thievery. I hope the person sees your post and has a crisis of conscious.

  26. OH those jellies. Love love love. I think I rocked a pair of these in just about every single color during my elementary school days!

  27. Love the blue jumper with the draped front. And of course, jade is a beautiful rock. Ah! Jolly! That sounds good.

  28. I hate it when people canibalise other's people's hard work and pass it off as their own D:<

    How did you find them?

I wasn't expecting those pictures to follow the word 'Jumper'. To me a jumper is a long-sleeved Winter top ... maybe you call it a sweater? Those 'jumpers' up there we call 'Onesies' ... which, come to think of it, sounds a lot like something a baby wears, haha.

Don't let the stealers get you down. Your work is amazing!

  29. I really like the jellies but you know, I did them in the 80's! AM I allowed to wear the same fashion twice? I sound like and old fart but am not yet middle aged!
Re the imitators..yes, it's very frustrating. I had a girl that I know in the same evening class as me copy my idea a couple of years ago. SHe nows sells them at all the markets. It really bugs me! It's not fair but it shows a lack of imagination on their part :)
