You may or may not know that Junghwa is my legal middle name and also my official Korean name. Jung happens to be my dad's name and Hwa is my mom's name. Yeah, and it's an actual real name. What are the chances of that right?! That's a good reason why I love it so much. But the main reason I hold it so close to me is that my grandparents, on my dad's side, were the only ones to ever call me by that name. They lived in Korea, so I didn't get to see them often, but I loved them...
a lot! They passed away a number of years ago, but it still feels like just yesterday that we were together.
And the reason for this story is that, I've decided to get my first tattoo. I've waited this long because I wanted to get something meaningful. Something I wouldn't regret 30 years from now. So... I've decided on getting Junghwa on the inside of my right wrist. I know it's corny to get your own name tattooed, but this truly has a lot of meaning to me.
WHAT DO YOU THINK???
